Astrakhan State University Discusses Issues of Big Data Processing

Chair of the Council of the University Consortium of Big Data Researchers, Professor of Tomsk State University and the University of Oregon (USA) Mikhail Myagkov outlined plans for further cooperation at his meeting with ASU representatives.

In June 2021, Astrakhan State University joined the University Consortium of Big Data Researchers.

Anna Fedotova, Director of the Innovative Natural Institute, address Mikhail Myagkov with an idea of assistance in processing a bulk of environmental data and in training employees of Astrakhan State University in the respective competencies.

In her turn, Anna Romanova, Director of the Institute for Southern Russia and Caspian Region Studies, asked her colleague to specify the range of possibilities for using big data and fulfilment of this potential in relation to the strategic project of integrated security.

The meeting raised the issues of using big data in studying the issues of demographic development and the identity of people living in the Caspian region. Mikhail Myagkov will keep active cooperation with his colleagues from our university and is ready to head a laboratory focused on applied analysis of big data.
