ASU Congratulates Astrakhan Nature Reserve on Anniversary

An event in honor of the 97th anniversary of the Astrakhan Nature Reserve has taken place at Astrakhan State University.

Staff of the Reserve, its regular partners, and students of our Biological Department (for whom the Reserve is an inexhaustible source of themes for scientific research) have taken part in the holiday event.

The anniversary celebration started with a welcoming speech by Professor Vladimir Pilipenko, who congratulated the Reserve, thanked its staff for their hard work, and said that ASU looks forward to further cooperation with this institution. As for top managers of the Reserve, they gave presentations telling about its history and present-day activities.

The audience was also pleased to see concert numbers by children from Astrakhan’s dancing and singing ensembles.

As a token of thanks for cooperation, Mr. Nikolay Tsimlyanskiy, Director of the Astrakhan Nature Preserve, presented a smart calendar with pictures of Astrakhan Region’s avifauna to Prof. Pilipenko.
