Student Theater of ASU to Take Part in International Festival

Students of the Department of Pedagogics, Social Work, and Physical Training of Astrakhan State University have passed the selection stage of the International Festival of Student Theater ARS?NE to take place in Arras, France.

This Festival is arranged by the Government of the French Republic and hosted by Artois University. Over 50 student theaters are to take in it in 2017. Those are teams from Britain, the United States, Canada, Italy, Spain, France, etc. Our team is the only Russian team to have passed the selection stage successfully.

Our students will stage the play “The Gypsies” based on the poem by Alexander Pushkin. Their stage director and scriptwriter is Mr. Alexey Matveev from the Astrakhan Drama Theater. The young people’s performance will be in three languages – Russian, French, and the French Sign Language.
