Researchers of ASU Exhibit Their Achievements in Agriculture

An exhibition of achievements in agriculture of Astrakhan Region has been held under the aegis of the Ministry of Agriculture of Astrakhan Region at Astrakhan State Technical University. It included R & D by researchers of Astrakhan State University.

1. Mechanized Device to Catch Locust & Produce Forage Mass (by A. Likhter and A. Makukhin). This device has been developed to obtain forage with a high percentage of proteins from insects that damage agricultural plants. The obtained forage is intended for pond fisheries and battery farms. The body of the mechanism contains a patented electromagnetic luring unit; its optical range considers with insects’ trichromatic eyesight.
2. Data Mining in Agriculture (by A. Koshkarov). This project implies data collection from agricultural fields by applying a special drone for further processing and analyzing to enhance decision-making in plant cultivation. It helps increase crop capacity per square meter and forecast it for the following season, as well as optimize consumption of water and fertilizers, assess the state of crops, identify areas that require special attention, and take action immediately.
3. Range of Semifinished Products & Cookery from Clarias Gariepinus; Technology of Pond Breeding (by A. Dulina, O. Udalova, and A. Lozovskiy). This project offers a range of semifinished products and cookery from Clarias gariepinus that helps meet the demand for delicious fish. It also applies new approaches to branding the delicious produce from Clarias gariepinus and determines the best parameters to breed and feed this fish in ponds.
