ASU Project “Pick Up a Doctor” Is Acknowledged by Russian President
This spring, fourth-year student of the Law Faculty of Astrakhan State University and coordinator of the Astrakhan Office of the New-Generation Youth Organization Artur Oganesyan has initiated campaign “Pick Up a Doctor”, that later became nationwide. The student received a state award — a letter of gratitude of the Russian president — for solidarity and help, rendered to doctors in these hard times.
Artur and other volunteering drivers went to the streets of the city to bring doctors to work free of charge and pick them up from work.
About 2,000 free rides were made in the region over the pandemic period. Pick Up a Doctor campaign was supported by volunteers from 84 entities of Russia. Up to 200 cars worked in every region in the hardest period of lockdown.
The Astrakhan Office of the New-Generation Youth Organization, headed by Artur Oganesyan, is a partner of #WeAreTogether campaign. Astrakhan volunteers have delivered basic-needs products to their fellow countrymen more than 20,000 times from the beginning of the pandemic up to the present day.
