Scientific Regiment Heroes Are Honoured at ASU on the Day of Memory and Sorrow
A heartwarming meeting of veterans with students has taken place at Astrakhan Tatishchev State University. The children of the war remembered their colleagues, friends and relatives who died during the Great Patriotic War, and shared their life experience with the younger generation.
The meeting was organized by the United Primary Trade Union Organization and the Council of Veterans of Astrakhan State University. The welcoming speech was delivered by the First Vice-Rector — Vice-Rector for Strategic Development Elina Polyanskaya.
Galina Stefanova, the Chair of the Council of Veterans of ASU and a consulting professor at the Department of Theoretical Physics and Methods of Teaching Physics, and Lyudmila Kasyanova, the Chair of the United Primary Trade Union Organization and Dean of the Faculty of Philology and Journalism, also addressed the audience.
Associate Professor of the Department of Russian History Natalia Kulakova spoke about the influence of the war on history of Astrakhan Tatishchev State University. For example, the audience learned how the university was evacuated to Tobolsk and the accelerated graduation of students was carried out.
Then the guests were shown a presentation of the Scientific Regiment project dedicated to the university staff who went through the war. The old photos made the veterans remember their dear colleagues, teachers, acquaintances and friends.
