Znanie Society’s Marathon at ASU Starts with the Day of Volunteering
Students of Astrakhan Tatishchev State University will attend a series of lectures within the all-Russia educational campaign where they will discuss the achievements of science, culture, engineering and current trends in patriotic education of youth and volunteering.
Matvey Shakirov, Deputy Chairman of the ASU Joint Student Council, addressed the first-year students with a welcoming speech. He told them about the current volunteer system at ASU and dwelled on the details of three volunteer movements – On the Wings of Kindness, Empathy and ASU Victory Volunteers.
In addition, Gulbina Bayzulina, Deputy Director of the Volunteer Resource Center of Astrakhan Region, spoke to the students, and Valentina Pokusaeva, Senior Instructor of the Astrakhan Regional Branch of the Russian Red Cross, held a master class on first aid for the first-year students.
The marathon of Znanie Society at ASU will continue today with the lecture “On Science, Its Support and More” by Vice-Rector for Research Activities Lyudmila Baeva and “A Conversation with the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists about the First Steps into Science” by Lyubov Kholova, a researcher at the Institute for Southern Russia and Caspian Region Studies.
