International Cooperation of ASU in Chemistry & Biology

Astrakhan State University signed a cooperation agreement with the University of Artois (Arras, France) last year. Prof. Alexey Tyrkov, Dean of Astrakhan State University’s Chemical Department, has told us about its current outcomes.

“Our cooperation concerns Biology and Chemistry. Now faculty staff of our University can cover a practical training program funded by our French partner. Our students can apply for a program of included studies to join a master program of the University of Artois at the expense of the receiving party. Now Dr. Natalia Zolotareva is covering a practical training program in France. A joint master program in healthy nutrition technologies is to be launched soon.

We’re looking forward to cooperating with the University of Artois in a long-term run. This University is one of France’s best-known educational institutions. Such cooperation is definitely valuable and promising for us in many ways. After we finalize our joint syllabi, our students will be able to get two diplomas at once – a French one and a Russian one. Then we’re planning to extend the range of our joint programs in Chemistry and in Biology. I hope our young researchers will get good opportunities, too: if they obtain a PhD degree at the University of Artois, that’d be a marvelous chance for them to enhance their status”.
