Winners of Young Researchers’ Contest Determined

On Nov. 13, 2015, the results of the UMNIK Program aiming to determine the best developments by young researchers have been summarized at Astrakhan State University. This program is arranged by the Federal Fund for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises in Science and Technology (FASIE).

50 projects in a number of fields (Information Technologies; Medicine of the Future; Modern Materials & Their Manufacturing Technologies; New Devices & Hardware; Biotechnologies) have been selected to compete in this contest. Twenty winners (including five people of Astrakhan State University) have been determined.

Prof. Marina Lozovskaya, who heads ASU’s Directorate of Research & Innovative Activities and who is also a FASIE regional representative, has opened the official ceremony of awarding the 20 young researchers.

Granting diplomas to the 20 winners, Ms. Svetlana Abdulova (Chief of the Directorate of HR, Educational, and Research Support of Regional Economy of the Ministry of Economic Development of Astrakhan Region) has remarked that all the projects comply with top-priority fields of both regional and national economic development.

The winners shall obtain the main prize – a grant sufficient to execute their ideas in practice within two years.

The Organizing Committee would like to thank the Ministry of Education and Science of Astrakhan Region, as well as the United Organizing Committee of Astrakhan Region’s Universities, for its cooperation in arrangement of this event. Special thanks are to Mr. Igor Zagidulin, who supervises the UMNIK Program in the Southern Federal District.
