Student of ASU Studies Chinese in China

Aygul Kurmangalieva, a 4th-year-student of the Chemical Department of Astrakhan State University specializing in Organic & Bioorganic Chemistry, has completed a language training program at the College of International Cultural Exchange of Hainan University (China).

Aygul studies Chinese as a secondary specialty in addition to her education in Chemistry. During her studies in China, she could talk with Chinese native speakers, which is essential to develop and enhance language and speech skills.

Upon her return to Russia, Aygul confessed: “It was uneasy. Hieroglyphs scared me, but warm-hearted Chinese people met us and helped us in whatever way they could. After I graduate from our Chemical Department, I’m planning to find a job in a petrochemical company, where my knowledge of Chinese should be a real value”.
