Students’ Contest in Financial Literacy

The 2nd Winter Contest in Financial Literacy for students of Astrakhan Region has taken place at Astrakhan State University.

The Center of Financial Literacy operating at ASU arranged this three-stage event. Students of Astrakhan State University, Astrakhan State University of Civil Engineering, and the Astrakhan Branch of International Law Institute took part in it. The initial tour and the semi-final stage required tackling relevant real-life tasks and writing essays related to financial literacy and financial education.

The final stage of the Contest implied participation in a table game, which determined the following winner and runners-up:

winner – Ekaterina Boronikhina (Astrakhan State University);

1st runner-up – Rakhiya Utaralieva (Astrakhan State University);

2nd runner-up – Aldar Tsetdenov (Astrakhan State University of Civil Engineering) and Alina Salikhova (Astrakhan State University).

The finalists obtained memorable presents, New-Year souvenirs, diplomas, and “Olympic medals”. Ekaterina Boronikhina, who won the Contest, got a winter tour to the Dombay Resort in the Northern Caucasus in January 2017.

The held contest aimed to promote financial literacy among young people of Astrakhan Region, who show more and more interest to it over the past years. As the organizers and the jurors say, such issues not only are of real demand for active young people, but also form youngsters’ views on their own financial future.

The Center of Financial Literacy of ASU congratulates the winners and the runners-up and wishes them further success and progress!
