Students of ASU Win Prize at International Competition in Robotics
RobotChallenge 2017, an international championship in Robotics, has been held in Beijing (China). Students of Astrakhan State University have taken part in it.
Over 1, 000 teams from 212 universities of 26 countries came to China to participate in this competition. 1, 316 robots contested in a number of nominations.
The team of ASU included two students covering a master program at our Department of Mathematics & Information Technologies – Ivan Kolesnikov and Mikhail Ilmenskiy. They presented two robots in the Puck Collect nomination: Pucks Harvester 1 and Pucks Harvester 2. These robots already won prizes at Russian national robotic competitions. As a result of the contest, Pucks Harvester 2 became a finalist and took the 2nd place. Our students were performing as well as their German competitors; they made a draw. Yet, our people’s robot malfunctioned, which prevented it from winning the 1st place.
Our students gained precious experience of participation in international competitions and are anxious to enhance their performance in the future.
Our Congratulations!
