Astrakhan State University Opens Its Branch in Akhtubinsk

Such a decision has finally been made at a meeting between ASU Acting Rector Konstantin Markelov and Akhtubinsky District Head Aleksey Kirillov after lengthy negotiations.

According to the Head of the municipal entity, the establishment of a branch of the comprehensive university in Akhtabunsk will help solve the problem of HR deficiency, as well as to reduce the youth drain from the district.

It should be recalled that Astrakhan State University is one of the largest HEIs of the Caspian region which, among other areas, trains teachers, agriculture specialists and HR for military industry enterprises.

Now the parties are discussing a legal form of the future educational institution. One of the options is to join the ASU Akhtubinsk branch to the existing branch in Znamensk. Upon completion of study courses, its graduates will receive state diplomas of ASU.

For now, the ASU administration in involved into solving the issue of the Akhtubinsk branch location. If they manage to solve all the organizational issues soon, there is a chance that the year of 2020 will already see enrollment of applicants there.
