ASU Representatives Participate in Legal Conference in Moscow

On December 2, Dean of the Law Faculty Elena Savelieva and Deputy Dean of the Law Faculty of Astrakhan State University Ekaterina Mityachkina took part in the 9th International Congress “Legal Values in the Focus of Comparative Law”.

Plenary session participants listened to the reports of experts from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, China, Norway, Russia and France.

The congress programme included sections and round table discussions on current issues of formation and preservation of legal values, conceptualization of new approaches to comprehension of legal values as a subject of comparative law, including the following issues:

• legal values in the context of new paradigms of modern civilization development:
• person and state: search for the balance of values and law;
• role of justice in protection of legal values in the digital era;
• fundamental values of modern international law, facing new challenges;
• social values in a rule-of-law state: historical experience and foreign practices;
• climate change as a factor of law transformation;
• corporate management: prospects of development in law;
• modern administrative procedure: areas of modernization under 21st century challenges;
• social values of criminal and criminal procedure law.
