ASU Professors Discuss Teaching of Foreign Languages with Their Colleagues
Head of the Department of Romanic Philology of Astrakhan State University Elena Kuznetsova and Associate Professor of the department Yulia Chudinova took part in an online forum for teachers of French, held on October 5-8 via Zoom.
The French-Russian scientific conference on teaching languages was organized in partnership with Saint Petersburg State University of Economics (UNECON), MSU Higher School of Interpreting and Translation (ESTI), French Institute in Moscow and Embassy of France in Moscow. The forum topic “Higher Educational Institutions and COVID-19 Crisis: Systems, Education and Prospects” focused the participants on the current context and allowed them to discuss, compare and find solutions for the most pressing issues.
Each day of the forum included three formats of work: discussion at plenary meetings, round tables and workshops, involving more than 200 professors from all across Russia. As they say, despite the pandemic, the event was held to a high standard. Topics of master classes and round tables were rather relevant for modern conditions and useful for teaching — student mobility in COVID times, presentation of different platforms that allow to organize e-learning (LearningApps, Educol and so on), tools for students’ independent work, etc.
