ASU Publishing House Issues Psychology Study Guide for Foreign Students
The book was written by Head of the Department of General and Cognitive Psychology Olga Khalifaeva and Associate Professor of the department Natalia Kolenkova. They presented systematic knowledge on the main categories of psychology.
The study guide is meant for foreign students of teaching and psychology teaching majors and is aimed at their mastering of professional vocabulary. The edition is based on an interdisciplinary approach, implying not only synthesis of linguistic and psychological knowledge but also formation of communication and professional competences of prospective teachers and psychology teachers, as well as students of other majors that study psychology as a subject.
The book has four sections: the first one is an introduction into the world of mental phenomena, the second section describes mental processes, the third one dwells on mental states, and the fourth section is about person’s psychological attributes.
Each topic contains the main terms and definitions of psychology with explanations and examples. The book also contains texts and tasks, aimed at understanding general psychology issues and learning the Russian linguistic system in this sphere.
