ASU Holds Business Meetings with Partner Universities
Representatives of Astrakhan State University discussed prospects for joint work with colleagues from the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation and the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia.
ASU was represented by First ViceRector — Vice Rector for Strategic Development Elina Polyanskaya and Head of the Department “The UNESCO Chair “The Learning Society and Human Sustainable Development” Irina Tarasova.
One of the main outcomes of the business meeting was a discussion on the issue of ASU joining educational consortium “Network University of the Third Age”. This project, initiated by the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, has been implemented since 2020 and unites several dozens of educational organizations, representing 23 entities of Russia.
According to Vice Rector for Additional Professional Education of the Financial University and Executive Director of the project Elena Didenko, the primary objective of the establishment of the Network University of the Third Age was to address the task, stipulated in national project “Demography”. Besides, joining the consortium opens up new opportunities for training the scientific and teaching staff (continuing education) within the framework of federal project “New Opportunities for Everyone”.
The representatives of ASU and their colleagues from the Financial University also discussed the scope and organization of joint programmes of additional education, paying particular attention to the prospects for double-degree diplomas.
A series of additional education courses can be implemented together with the Financial University for representatives of the regional agribusiness and aquaculture business; the colleagues also touched upon engineering education.
Meetings at RUDN University were no less productive. Dean of the Faculty of Philology Viktor Barabash and the representatives of ASU discussed the prospects for cooperation in linguistic education.
In particular, RUDN suggested that ASU joined the Consortium of Linguistic Universities and took part in a series of humanitarian projects on sustainable development under the aegis of UNESCO.
