Spring at ASU Traditionally Starts with Bard Concert
Festive programme “Men and Women” was prepared by members of the bard club of Astrakhan State University.
Along with songs by Yuri Vizbor, Oleg Mityaev, Aleksandr Gorodnitsky, Veronika Dolina and Aleksandr Sukhanov, which have long been loved by the bard fans, the concert programme included tracks that are closer to the younger generation, for example, My Sea by Ivan Alekseev (a.k.a. Noize MC) or the immortal hit I Want to Be with You by Vyacheslav Butusov.
It is really nice that more and more performers choose songs based on the poems of classical poets. This time, the lines of Marina Tsvetaeva, Paul Verlaine, Sergei Yesenin and Percy Shelley sounded in the renewed Event Hall of the university.
In their concert items, the performers tried to demonstrate different facets of love — this topic is more relevant than ever on the eve of March, 8.
By tradition, ASU Rector Konstantin Markelov took the guitar and performed Spring Song by Valery Bokov, a song with quite a timely name.
The guests of the concert were delighted with new duets and even trios of performers. The final song — My Dear by Yuri Vizbor — was performed by the entire bard club team together with the audience with great pleasure.
