Another Meeting School of Debates 2.0 Held at ASU

This time, the judge at the event was Denis Bodnyuk, Head of the Regional Management Centre. The expert assessed performances of the participants, shared his personal experience and gave practical advice.

The School of Debates project has been implemented at Astrakhan State University since 2019. Its objective is to develop students’ public speaking skills.

Attending the series of lectures delivered by leading speakers of Astrakhan region, the participants have already learned how to prepare for filming, about the importance of using non-verbal language in public speaking and the specificity of political debates. Now the young people have moved on to discussions, a practical part of the programme.

Head of the Regional management Centre Denis Bodnyuk acted as a judge of the meeting. The expert’s professional experience allowed him not only to evaluate the performances of the teams but also to answer their questions. The guest also drew the audience’s attention to the main features necessary for each participant in the discussion: confidence, faith in what you say, and self-command.
