ASU Holds Meeting of the Presidium of the Association of Legal Education

The event took place at the Boiling Point Centre of Astrakhan State University. Rector Konstantin Markelov, Dean of the Law Faculty Elena Savelyeva and Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs Ekaterina Mityachkina took part in the discussion on behalf of the university.

The audience was greeted by ASU Rector Konstantin Markelov.

“Yesterday, we received a Rosobrnadzor resolution on the completion of the university accreditation procedure. For us, this is an important stage and a starting point for future growth and development, and we, of course, feel the support from our partners and friends, including from the presidium of the Association of Legal Education. Such meetings offer an opportunity to work and communicate with rectors of specialized HEIs. It is very important for ASU as a classical higher educational institution to follow the rating leaders in legal education in order to keep pace with you and implement joint projects,” said the ASU rector.

Co-chair of the Russian Lawyers Association, rector of Kutafin Moscow State Law University Viktor Blazheev handed certificates of honour and letters of gratitude from the Association of Legal Education.

The discussion participants considered the current issues of legal education and standards, noting the pros and cons of modern reforms. They touched upon the issue of a new list of areas for training students and the idea of ​​an individual trajectory of training.

The speakers shared the experience of the work of Russia’s legal universities, represented by them, and also suggested ways to eliminate the shortcomings that have arisen in the professional sphere and in the field of educating lawyers-to-be.
