Caspian Model UN Project Receives In-house Award
The joint initiative of the Law Faculty and the Faculty of Foreign Languages ??became a laureate of the 6th Festival of Student Science, held at Astrakhan State University in April 2021.
The idea of the project belongs to the Department of International Law. Students of the ASU Law Faculty have already taken part in the Vitaly Churkin Moscow International Model UN, which is held annually at MGIMO University of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Being a multinational university that unites representatives of different countries and cultures, Astrakhan State University has undertaken the honorary mission to act as a platform for implementation of the Caspian Model UN. The project started in 2019. More than 200 delegates took part in it, among whom there were guests from Grozny, Samara, Saratov, Sterlitamak (Bashkiria), students of the Astrakhan Branch of the International Law Institute, as well as students of the ASU Law Faculty, Biological Faculty, Faculty of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Philology and Journalism, Faculty of Social Communications and Astrakhan schoolchildren.
The popularity of UN modeling is growing every year. Participation in the model provides a unique opportunity to learn all the subtleties of diplomatic work and all the complexity of the decision-making process on the UN global platform. Through this game, hundreds of young people learn about different countries and the challenges they face, as well as the complex process of international relations.
