ASU Sums Up First Results of 2021 Admission Campaign

The main stage of admission has come to an end at Astrakhan State University —applicants have been enrolled in the Bachelor, Specialist and Master intramural programmes.

This year, 717 people have already enrolled in Bachelor and Specialist training programmes, and 280 — in the Master’s degree programmes.

The highest competition in Bachelor programmes was for the courses “Pedagogical Education” in profile “History and Foreign Language” — 14 people per place. Along with the traditionally in-demand Humanities programmes, engineering and technical specialties were also popular among ASU applicants in 2021.

“The popularity of engineering majors among young people planning to get higher education at Astrakhan State University can be considered one of the main results of the 2021 admission campaign. I think these indicators are especially important in connection with the need to accelerate industrial and technological development and the Year of Science and Technology announced in Russia,” says ASU Rector Konstantin Markelov.

Another traditional feature of the admission campaign at Astrakhan State University is the vast geography of applicants. These are not only neighboring regions but also Russia’s constituent entities that are remote from Astrakhan.

Maintaining the status of a university with a comfortable educational environment for foreign students, Astrakhan State University is actively conducting an admission campaign for foreign citizens. In 2021, representatives of Azerbaijan, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan have already entered the ASU.
