“ASU: The Future Begins Today”: Konstantin Markelov Gives a Lecture for Freshers
As part of the open dialogue, young people got acquainted with the development strategy of Astrakhan State University, learned important facts firsthand and asked their questions of interest.
The rector’s lecture consisted of two parts — what the university represents today and what it will become in the future.
Konstantin Markelov said that now Astrakhan State University is a leading educational center in Southern Russia. The university has 13,000 students, over 200 training programmes, modern infrastructure, and educational buildings equipped with multimedia classrooms and laboratories with the state-of-the-art equipment. ASU students have the opportunity to get additional education and study 15 foreign languages. There are educational programmes implemented jointly with foreign partner universities, projects of academic mobility for students and professors.
Konstantin Markelov focused the attention of the freshers on the extracurricular life of Astrakhan State University: numerous clubs, socialization projects, student balls, competitions, both in-house and outside the walls of the university.
The head of the university shared the university’s prospects. ASU has submitted an application for Priority 2030, a large-scale competition of the Ministry of Higher Education and Science of the Russian Federation. In the future, Astrakhan State University, as a Caspian Open University, will develop new ideas and technologies, create scientific developments for the needs of business structures and implement projects of various levels.
Freshers of Astrakhan State University actively asked the rector their questions, trying not to miss the opportunity to get information of interest firsthand, and also took part in mini-polls.
