Rector of Astrakhan State University Konstantin Markelov and Rector of Volgograd State University Alla Kalinina discussed issues of win-win partnership during their working meeting.

The colleagues focused on implementation of joint projects and programmes in research, innovation and educational spheres, as well as further cooperation of the universities within the framework of consortia activities. One of them is the Southern Russia Competence Center for Foreign Specialists Training and Sociocultural Adaptation of Foreign Citizens in a Multicultural Region. This consortium currently includes four universities — Volgograd State University, Southern Federal University (Rostov-on-Don), Kalmyk State University named after B. B. Gorodovikov and Astrakhan State University.

In addition, ASU and VolSU became co-founders of the Association for Promotion of Multilateral International Cooperation in Science, Innovation and Education in the Black Sea Region on the sidelines of international scientific forum “Caspian Region 2021: Sustainable Development Trajectories”, held in May 2021.

During his visit to Volgograd State University, Konstantin Markelov visited the VolSU History Museum, the Museum of Cadet Regiments, laboratories of the TeleNovo Engineering Center, and the House of Scientific Collaboration.
