ASU Master’s Degree Teachers Are Told How to Succeed in Grant Competition

Natalia Shulgina, the Educational Programmes Director of the Vladimir Potanin Foundation, told her colleagues about the opportunities that open up to university teachers who develop new educational programmes and training courses and introduce original teaching methods.

The grant competition for teachers implementing full-time Master’s degree programmes has been launched for the 2013/2014 academic year. Representatives of 75 universities that are part of the Vladimir Potanin fellowship programme, including Astrakhan State University, are invited to participate in this competition.

According to Natalia Shulgina, the main long-term goal of the competition is to establish favorable conditions for university teachers so that they grow professionally. According to the selection results, 150 winners receive a grant of up to 500,000 rubles for the development of a master programme / a training course or for the introduction of new educational practices.

Natalia Shulgina also noted that the foundation’s support goes beyond the grant competition. Academic Landing, a project to support the professional mobility of Master’s degree teachers, was launched in 2021, in which one can take part both as part of a university project team and with an individual development trajectory.

In addition, the winners of the grant competition can take part in such major annual events as the Conference on Master Programmes and the Foundation School, where they are offered various education activities, including advanced training in the field of pedagogical design, scientific communication and others. There have been many examples of the grantees coming up with ideas on new joint projects and events, which they then implemented independently, upon results of communication during the competition.

More than 700 teachers from almost 100 universities of the country have received the support of the Vladimir Potanin Foundation in creating relevant educational products for Master’s degree students over the seven years of the existence of the competition.

To participate in the 2021/2022 grant competition, please submit an electronic application via your personal account on the foundation’s website up to January, 17.
