ASU Students Successfully Complete Soft Skills Testing
For three months, students of all 16 faculties of Astrakhan State University were tested for the level of their cross-professional competencies using the tools of autonomous non-profit organization “Russia — the Country of Opportunities”.
The testing allowed to analyze numerical and verbal information, as well as the resilience of the testing participants. They also answered general questions on their personality.
Rufia Nikitina, Head of the ASU Center for Assessment and Development of Management Competence, commented on the event, saying that the analysis of numerical information shows the students’ ability to process tables with quantitative values, graphs and other forms of numerical data presentation. According to Rufiya Nikitina, the study of verbal information demonstrates the so-called verbal intelligence associated with the understanding of written texts.
The personality questionnaire included indicators for such competencies as communication, holistic thinking, organization, teamwork, stress exposure, ambition, and compliance with the rules.
Upon the test results, the students received individual reports that showed their strengths and potential growth areas. They were also recommended various courses and books.
