Aleksey Titov, the ASU Vice-Rector for Digitalization, Innovations and Priority Projects, made a report to his colleagues on the implementation of the university’s policy in the field of innovations and commercialization of developments.

The speaker recalled a number of successful projects of Astrakhan State University implemented in 2021. According to Alexey Titov, they are united by such parameters as their association to the Caspian region and attraction of new partners to work according to the formats declared by the university.

The vice-rector singled out such implemented initiatives as the Caspian Demo Festival of Startup Projects, which was held online in December 2021 and brought together over a thousand participants. The organizing team plans to implement the positive experience gained from the project this May, holding a similar festival without the prefix demo on the eve of the international scientific forum Caspian Region 2022: Sustainable Development Trajectories.

Aleksey Titov also mentioned other innovative initiatives of ASU, like the spin-off companies of the university which are Skolkovo residents. Thus, SMELCOM ROBOTICS, working in the field of maritime robotics, concluded an agreement with the university for R&D in the amount of 5 million rubles. Another spin-off company, focusing on unmanned aerial vehicles, is on the go.

In order to expand public awareness of the innovative developments of ASU, Aleksey Titov suggested creating a new online exhibition space of the university with a permanent exhibit.
