ASU Recalls the History of Russia-Kazakhstan Relations

The series of events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Kazakhstan has ended at Astrakhan State University.

The roundtable on topic “Diplomatic Relations between Russia and the Republic of Kazakhstan: History and Modernity” involved students of Astrakhan State University and its College, schoolchildren of Gymnasium No.1 and Secondary School No.14 of Astrakhan, and representatives of five educational institutions of Kazakhstan which joined the event online.

Ekaterina Shatokhina, the Head of the Directorate of International Affairs, made a welcoming speech, noting the importance of the long-standing friendly relations that have developed between ASU and the universities of Kazakhstan, and also thanked the directors and students of the republic’s schools for their active participation in ASU events.

At the roundtable, senior students of Astrakhan State University, studying at the Faculty of History and Law Faculty, made presentations on topics “Historical Stages of Russia-Kazakhstan Relations”, “Procedure for Establishing Diplomatic Relations: the Case of Russia and Kazakhstan”, and “Russia and Kazakhstan: a Retrospective Review of Historical and Legal Issues”.
