Rector of ASU Speaks at 2022 Caspian Dialogue International Assembly
The forum, organized by the Caspian Science and Innovation Association, was held at the Cultural Center of the Main Production and Commercial Administration for Services to the Diplomatic Corps under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation with the assistance of the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund.
Researchers, diplomats, students and media representatives from Russia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands and Turkmenistan took an active part in face-to-face and online discussions of the specificity of the development of Caspian relations.
Participants of the plenary session of the International Assembly considered the issues of the development of the Caspian Dialogue after the signing of the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea.
The forum experts discussed the vectors of conjugation of the positions of the Caspian countries, the presence of international and interregional organizations in the Caspian space, the promotion of innovative technologies, new formats of the assembly and interstate cooperation, as well as international cooperation in the field of joint research and monitoring of natural, man-made and geological resources.
Rector of Astrakhan State University Konstantin Markelov touched upon the topic of science and innovation of universities in the interests of security and sustainability of the Caspian development.
As the rector said, annual forums allow to generate new promising ideas and trajectories for further development of the Caspian region.
