Caspian Forum 2022: Meeting of the Commission for Science, Research and Technology at the Association of Universities and Research Centers of the Caspian Region States

Universities of the Caspian states discussed topical issues at Astrakhan State University, focusing on two tracks — the prospects for working on joint research and projects in the most relevant areas of development of the Caspian region and the development of youth science and innovation.

The main purpose of the meeting, according to Chairman of the commission, Rector of Astrakhan State University Konstantin Markelov, is to form international scientific, including youth, project teams in order to projects aimed at the sustainable development of the Caspian Sea, as well as the exchange of experience.

The participants of the event discussed various topics related to the study of issues of sustainable development of the Caspian region, the integration of research teams of Caspian universities, cooperation and interaction in addressing key macroregional issues. They also assessed the possibility of exchanging the results of research, pooling resources and funds for the benefit of the Caspian region.

The third meeting of Commission for Science, Research and Technology at the Association of Universities and Research Centers of the Caspian Region States resulted in the following decisions:

  • to adopt the Regulations on the Council of Young Scientists under the Commission for Science, Research and Technology at the Association of Universities and Research Centers of the Caspian Region States;
  • to agree on the submitted candidates for the composition of the Council of Young Scientists;
  • to identify promising areas for future joint activities in support of youth science and innovative creativity, including the Second Caspian Festival-Competition of Start-Up Projects.
