Konstantin Markelov Is Awarded a Cup for Prize-Winning Place in Shooting Competition

The solemn awarding of the rector of Astrakhan Tatishchev State University took place during the opening of the swimmers' tournament within the framework of the 8th All-Russian Summer Universiade 2022 in the swimming pool of Zvezdny Sport & Entertainment Center.

The 4th Championship of Rectors of Russia in rifle shooting, dedicated to the 76th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, was held at the MGIMO shooting range of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia in April 2021. The rector of ASU showed an excellent result there and took the honorable third place in the overall score, losing only a few points to the winner. Konstantin Markelov could not attend the award ceremony, which took place in person a year later, after the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions, and so the cup and certificate found their owner in Astrakhan.

The award ceremony was timed to a large-scale sporting event — a swimming competition within the framework of the 8th all-Russia Summer Universiade 2022. The tournament brought together more than 20 teams from universities of Russia and Belarus. Astrakhan is represented on the pool tracks by swimmers from Astrakhan State Technical University, while employees of the ASU School of Sports, Physical Development and Healthy Lifestyle are engaged in organizing and judging the competition.

Welcoming the participants of the Universiade as the head of the Consortium of Universities and Scientific Organizations of Astrakhan Region, Konstantin Markelov sent his greetings on Youth Day and wished the athletes a good mood from the very start of the competition.

Konstantin Markelov received the award for the prize-winning place of the 4th Championship of Rectors of Russia in rifle shooting from Executive Director of the Student Swimming League Eduard Nechaev.
