Konstantin Markelov Talks to Head of Akhtubinsky District Vladimir Mikhed
The rector of Astrakhan Tatishchev State University held a meeting with a delegation of the municipal entity. The head of the university and the guests discussed the areas of joint development of the Akhtubinsky District and ASU; the rector spoke about the merits of the higher educational institution, and also invited the guests on a tour around the university.
Astrakhan State University has been building partnerships with the Akhtubinsky District for a long time. For example, earlier the university organized meetings with teachers and schoolchildren. The main problem that the heads of the municipal entity and the university want to solve through cooperation remains the outflow of young people from the districts in particular and from Astrakhan Region in general.
Last year, 39 out of 350 Akhtubinsk school graduates entered Astrakhan State University. Most often, Akhtubinsk applicants choose IT, legal, and pedagogical education. Those wishing to continue their education in Master programmes also choose pedagogical majors. Those who apply to the ASU College prefer pharmacy, economic accounting, law and social security organization.
The parties also discussed the possibility of opening a branch of Astrakhan State University in Akhtubinsk.
After the meeting, the guests were given a tour of the classrooms and laboratories of the university, which allowed them to evaluate the high-tech developments of Astrakhan State University with their own eyes.
