ASU Rector Konstantin Markelov Talks to Advisor to the Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia

As part of her visit, Daria Vasina attended the Festival of the Peoples of the World, which took place at the university, met with the head of Astrakhan Tatishchev State University and with Vice-Rector for International Affairs Angelina Fadina, and made a tour of the educational institution.

The guest visited ASU to search for new possible ways of cooperation within the framework of the Association of International Students. According to Daria Vasina, the Astrakhan branch of AIS, established at the university, is one of the most active branches.

Daria Vasina spoke about the problems that exist in this area. She noted that now foreign students are poorly involved in student life, and coordinators and mentors are needed for establishing communication. Rector of Astrakhan State University Konstantin Markelov and Vice-Rector for International Affairs Angelina Fadina said that they were striving to build a similar system, assigning senior students from the same countries to students.

During the meeting, the guest and representatives of the university also exchanged thoughts on how to make learning more effective and talked about how to provide students with more opportunities for practice.
