ASU Representatives Discusses the Role of the Association of International Students

The online webinar, organized by the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, was attended by employees of the Directorate for International Activity of Astrakhan Tatishchev State University.

President of the Association of International Students Issa Shabo emphasized that a large number of events had been held in the field of socio-cultural adaptation of foreign students in various regions of Russia over the past year. The Association of International Students has 26 branches, with Astrakhan being among the leading ones. The student association, established in 2014 on the basis of ASU, has initiated various social projects for many years. Among them are those that received the support of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, like the Peoples’ Friendship Club, Family EthnoAcademy, EthnoLaboratory of Student Initiatives, and the TeleBridge of Friendship.

The next elections of the chairman of the Astrakhan branch of the association are planned for next month: the best leaders of ethnic and cultural communities will present their candidacies. Today, the public association is working to strengthen mutual understanding and friendship between foreign students, as well as to protect their rights and interests.
