Issues of Free Legal Aid Are Discussed at ASU
In order to raise students’ legal awareness, Astrakhan Tatishchev State University has held a round table with representatives of the Office of the RF Ministry of Justice for Astrakhan Region, the prosecutor’s office and heads of Astrakhan legal clinics.
The event was opened with a welcoming speech by Natalya Larina, Head of the Department for Control and Supervision in Advocacy, Notaries, and State Registration of Civil Status Acts. She highlighted the main issues of changing federal legislation in terms of regulating the activities of legal clinics and spoke about the creation of the Legal Assistance state information system.
Yulia Sorokina, the Head of the Department of Legal Protection and Organization of Free Legal Aid, shared her experience in implementing programs jointly with the Ministry of Social Development and Labor of Astrakhan Region.
Ekaterina Kadina, Prosecutor of the Department for Supervision of Compliance with Laws, Rights and Freedoms of Citizens of the Prosecutor’s Office of Astrakhan Region, discussed with the students the system of work of the regional prosecutor’s office in the area of providing free legal assistance. Olga Korablina, the Head of the Corporate Law Department at ASU, also took part in the discussion.
