Merging of ASU and ASUACE: Background, Concept and Proposals

The Boiling Point co-working centre of Astrakhan Tatishchev State University hosted a public discussion on Astrakhan State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (ASUACE) acceding the largest university in our region.

The concept of merge and transition of the educational institutions was announced during the public discussion. The impact of the merge on students, personnel, teaching staff and Astrakhan region in general was considered.


The teaching staff of ASUACE will have an opportunity to improve their professional skills and get federal support within the framework of programmes of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia. The academic mobility of teachers will also be expanded, the existing educational programmes and working conditions will remain unchanged. ASUACE students will be able to receive a federal degree, increase their scholarship and get internships in a wide range of programmes.

The outcome of the discussion was a resolution with voiced opinions: to preserve a separate ASAUCE institution and its educational programmes in the structure of ASU and keep the high quality of education; to ensure a careful attitude to the staff, social guarantees for students; to take into account the opinion of the construction industry representatives; to open new training areas and start training specialists in the sphere of constructing bridge crossings and roadways.
