ASU Students Celebrate the International Day of Tolerance
Students of the Faculty of Education, Psychology, Physical Education and Sport of Astrakhan Tatishchev State University took part in a discussion organized by the ASU Department of English Language and Professional Communications on the eve of the holiday.
During the event, the students listened to a lecture and then entered into a discussion aimed at establishing a spirit of tolerance, cultivating a culture of peace, developing intercultural understanding, and most importantly, finding answers to topical issues: «What is tolerance?», «Tolerant personality», «Tolerant communication and features of sociability». At the end of the discussion, the young people played a situational game «Share your smile».
At the English lesson, the students solved such basic tasks as:
- development of self-esteem and the ability to respect the dignity of others;
- development of the ability to self-analysis and self-awareness;
- formation of a positive attitude to their own nation and other peoples;
- teaching constructive ways of getting out of conflict situations;
- development of communicative skills that strengthen social ties;
- teaching intercultural understanding and tolerant behavior in interethnic relations.
The organizer of the discussion, Associate Professor of the ASU Department of English and Professional Communications Marina Golubeva, noted:
«Joint work allows to form cognitive interest and develop creative activity of students, leading and guiding them on the complex path of the development of personality, worldview and world understanding.»
