Association of Foreign Students for Healthy Lifestyle

On May 24, a contest in mini football “Cup of Peoples’ Friendship” has been held at an open site of Astrakhan State University. It has been arranged by the Astrakhan Branch of the Association of Foreign Students.

Foreign students of our University have become its participants; the event has been organized by the executive committee of Astrakhan Branch of the Association of Foreign Students (Aylar Gapurova, Chief of the Center of Foreign Students’ Social & Cultural Adaptation, and Nekkadam Saidov, Chairperson of the Tajik Diaspora Committee at ASU). The contest has become a good tradition of ASU; it is already the 3^rd time that it has been held.

The contest has been held to promote sports and healthy lifestyle, to develop friendly relations among our foreign students, and to help them adapt as soon as possible.

Seven teams have taken part in this event: Babushkina Street, F.C. Каvkaz, Aktau, Golden Friends, Sporting, Foreign United, and Dream. Denis Usynin from the Department of World Economy & Management has been the referee. Eleven matches have been played; as a result of the round robin, only some teams have achieved the play-off.

Four teams have become semi-finalists: Aktau, Sporting, Foreign United, and Dream. As for the 3^rd-place match, it was Aktau and Sporting who competed with each other: Sporting has won with the score 5:0. Dream and Foreign United have become finalists, and Dream has won with a one-score difference.

Adum Lamana has become the best player; Serdar Khojagulyev has become the best goal-scorer; Achessi Ismael has been the best forward; and Maksim Shnychkin has been the best goal-keeper.

The players were granted letters of thanks for their active participation. Members and captains of the team that have won prizes were awarded with diplomas of the 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd degrees; the main prize - the Cup of Peoples’ Friendship - has been granted to the winners.
