Electronic Presentations of Books

Ms. Nadezhda Proshunina, Director of the Scientific Library of Astrakhan State University, has told us about electronic presentations of thematic book exhibitions based on the Library book stock.

“Over the last two years, our Library has been offering electronic presentations of various editions that are available at our Library. As our users say, the brightest presentation was a cycle of exhibitions dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Russia’s victory over Nazi Germany, an exposition of new literature and rare books. Creation of presentations has become possible thanks to special equipment of our Library.

Visitors of our reading hall located in the University Main Building can see not just electronic book exhibitions, but also announcements of upcoming events that our Library arranges and a list of full-text databases that we provide.

Applying such an approach towards our readers, we are trying to make our book stocks nearer to them, to interest them with our resources, to encourage our students and professors to use our Library. Our visitors’ feedback about such virtual thematic exhibitions is definitely positive. We are planning to develop such activities by extending the theme range of our electronic book exhibitions and presentations”.
