Basketball Team of ASU Took Part in National Competition

On Nov. 13, 2016, Russia’s best streetball teams gathered in Moscow to claim the rank of the national champion and be entitled to present Russia at international competitions in 3x3 basketball. One of those teams was the team of Astrakhan State University that won the regional stage.

Four students – Igor, Tungyshbek, Frederic, and Farkhad – represented our University in Moscow. Our team was in Group B, took the 4th place at the round robin stage, and played in the 1/16 finals with the team of the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (Moscow), to whom it lost during overtime with a two-score difference.
