Training for Faculty of Department of Foreign Languages

The training “Application of Hi-Tech Multimedia Hardware to Teach Conference Interpreting & Conference Logistics” has been delivered at the Department of Foreign Languages of Astrakhan State University.

The training was initiated by the Institute of Language & Communicative Business Strategies of ASU headed by Prof. Olga Egorova. It took place in a high-end facility equipped with the most modern hardware for conference interpreting. Ms. Ekaterina Krylova, who works with the Center of Translation Studies & Conference Interpreting “ASTLINK” of Astrakhan State University, was the coach. The event aimed to train our professors how to apply that hardware to teach their students conference interpreting in various language combinations.

Staff of our Chairs of English Philology, Romanic Philology, and English Chair for Humanities took part in the training. All the participants emphasized the real importance of such training and were delighted to learn more about the opportunities that our conference interpreting training hardware can provide; they also highly appreciated the coach’s professional level.

Another training for our faculty is to take place in December, which will definitely contribute to training of future conference interpreters at our University.
