Our Mathematical Students Win Prize at Scientific Competition
Students of the Department of Mathematics & Information Technologies have taken the 2nd place at the 2016 National Open Competition for the Best Student Research Paper in Information Security.
Regina Akhmedova and Kirill Kravchenko presented their research project “Development of Information Security Risks Assessment Technique Based on Introduction of Metric Characterizations”. Their research supervisor is Prof. Iskandar Azhmukhamedov, Head of the Chair of Information Security of Astrakhan State University. Regina and Kirill’s project aims to enhance efficiency of information security risks assessment by introducing metric characterizations to assess the acceptable and the current risks. The two students were awarded with diplomas for the 2nd place they gained.
The competition is held to provide the right conditions for young people to present their creativity, preserve and develop Russia’s intellectual potential, stimulate educational institutions to involve their students in research activities, contribute to integration of science and education, and tackle the top-priority tasks in the field of Russia’s information security.
