Meeting French Culture

The Festival of the French Culture “In the French Land” has taken place at the Cultural Center of Astrakhan State University. Our Chair of Romanic Philology arranged the event, which united our students admiring the French culture.

Giving their bright performances on the scene, our future linguistics, biologists, chemists, pedagogues, and social workers presented the customs and traditions of all the regions of France to the audience. Their performances were both in French and in Russian. The audience was amazed by the spectacular atmosphere of the holiday; they got a lot of interesting and useful information.

Our students studying French showed a splendid and creative performance. Many songs were sung to the live accompaniment. A storm of bravo exclamations followed the beautiful vocal by Polina Lisova, Alena Basova, and Erna Drozdova. Stirring and exciting dances filled the audience with positive energy. The peak of the concert program was the French cancan performed by the Fusion Dance Studio supervised by Luanna Vassilyeva.

The Festival of the French Culture “In the French Land” was arranged as the first night; it was a real success. The audience applauded after each performance. We look forward to making this event regular.
