Shakespearean Festival Complete
The Festival of Student Socialization Projects “Shakespearean Festival: Visualization & Classical Mix” has been complete at the Cultural Center of Astrakhan State University.
The project aimed to provide the right conditions to develop our students’ personal and interpersonal communicative competencies in the field of theater staging, classical art, and visualization techniques.
The Festival took place from September to November 2017. Its agenda included such performances as “Twelfth Night, or What You Will”, “Othello”, “Love's Labour’s Lost”, “As You Like It”, “A Midsummer Night's Dream, “Hamlet”, “The Comedy of Errors”, “The Comedy of Errors”, “King Lear”, “The Taming of the Shrew”, “The Winter’s Tale”, “Much Ado About Nothing”, “The Merry Wives of Windsor”, “Two Gentlemen of Verona”, “Timon of Athens”, “Julius Caesar”, “Macbeth”, and “Sonnets by Shakespeare”. An obligatory condition of the socialization project was to include a thematically associated painting in each performance.
In 2017, the honorable rank of laureates was conferred on all the 18 participating Departments of ASU. Our students were creative at providing a modern interpretation of artistic works by William Shakespeare; their scene plays were superb and memorable.
