ASU Meets Prospective Students

The Week of Open Doors has been over at Astrakhan State University.

Over the past several days, representatives of various Departments of ASU have been meeting their potential students to tell them about our educational process, our research achievements, our extracurricular activities, etc. The Department Deans also emphasized an opportunity to cover a master program after becoming a Bachelor or continue education at ASU after studying at another university for some time. Our young guests were also informed of specific features of syllabi in this or that specialty, available institutions to cover practical training programs, types and sums of scholarships, numbers of budget-funded positions, contests for secondary school students, etc. A lot was told about advantages of studies at ASU in particular. For instance, Dean of our Department of Business & Economy told about new bachelor specialties, which are unique for not just Astrakhan, but entire Southern Russia as well: “Management with Profound Studies of Foreign Languages (English & Arabic) and Legal Disciplines” and “State Regulation of Customs Activities”. Special attention was paid to our guests’ questions. FAQ concerned costs of studies, entrance passing scores, our license for educational activities, extra specializations available, spheres of professional activities, study payment discounts, etc.

There were many intellectual and entertaining events. Our Department of Mathematics & Information Technologies invited its guests to an IT quest; our Law Department took its guests’ fingerprints and presented the program “Visual Examination of Crime Scene” to them; our Department of Foreign Languages arranged a whole series of “linguistic” presentations.
