Astrakhan State University (Russia) and Atyrau State University (Kazakhstan) Develop Joint Activities

Future journalists studying at Astrakhan State University will go to Atyrau to cover a practical training program there, whereas their Kazakhstani peers will come to Astrakhan to meet the same goal.

This cooperation was initiated by the Chair of Theory & History of Journalism of Astrakhan State University and the Chair of Journalism of Atyrau State University. The two parties signed an additional agreement as part of the earlier signed memorandum. Now students of the two universities can carry out joint projects, cover practical training programs at regional and national media of both countries. For the two Chairs, this interaction will help write joint research papers and participate in international grants together.

Three Kazakhstani students, who study journalism in Atyrau, are supposed to study at our University. In their turn, their Russian peers from Astrakhan are expected to cover a summer hands-on training program at print and electronic media of Atyrau.

Friendly relations between the media schools of the two universities resulted in their joint participation in the recent TV bridge “Moscow – Astrakhan – Atyrau – Baku”, which was arranged by the RIA Novosti news agency. The TV bridge aimed to discuss the future of the Caspian Region.
