Student of ASU to Take Part in Final of 11th International Competition in ICT “IT Planet – 2017/18”

Students of Astrakhan State University have taken part in the selection stage of the 11th International Competition “IT Planet – 2017/18”, which concerns the most advanced fields of ICT. The co-organizers of the event are large international companies such as Oracle, 1C, Huawei, InterSystems, SKB Kontor, GNU/LinuxCenter, etc.

Over 20, 000 students and young specialists from 11 countries of the world took part in the selection stage. Among them, there were staff members of a number of federal and regional specialized companies.

Nikita Vasilyev, a student of the Department of Mathematics & Information Technologies, got a high score at the selection stage, having taken the 2nd place in Southern Russia in the contest “Programming: C#”. Now Nikita is to participate in the international finals to take place on June 01-04 at Tyumen Industrial University.

Over 350 young IT specialists aged under 25 from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, and Moldova are to take part in the international competition. There will be such nominations as Programming, Cloud Computing & Databases, Telecom, Mobile Platforms, Digital Creativity, Freeware & Robotics, and Unlimited Opportunities.

Besides the very competition, the finalists are to cover a training program: master classes, seminars, lectures given by experts in ICT, and personal contacts with the competition partners, which are major employers and vendors’ representatives.

Background: the 11th International Competition in ICT “IT Planet – 2017/18” is held thanks to a Russian Presidential Grant. It is also backed by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives.
