Regional Governor & Acting Rector Congratulate Our Newly Enrolled Students

A holiday ceremony dedicated to September 01, the Day of Knowledge, took place at the Cultural Center of Astrakhan State University. Numerous exhibition sites, master classes, photo sessions, and a concert awaited our young students and their parents.

Dr. Konstantin Markelov, Acting Rector of ASU, congratulated our newly enrolled students and wished them good luck in their studies.

“Astrakhan State University is not just good knowledge and prospects of a successful career; it’s also an interesting student life, a great opportunity to realize your creative and research potential. We have many plans to develop our University to make it one of the best not just in Southern Russia, but in the whole country in general. We can do that, as we’re a large and friendly team, whose members you just became”, he told our young students.

Dr. Alexander Zhilkin, Governor of Astrakhan Region, and Mr. Oleg Polumordvinov, Mayor of Astrakhan, also congratulated the event participants.

“The best part of your life itinerary just began”, Regional Governor addressed our students. “Let me congratulate you on this remarkable period and wish you good luck and smooth sailing. Now our region and our country are developing fast, so we need new ideas and non-nonstandard solutions that only you can suggest”.

At the holiday concert, student teams of ASU demonstrated their scenic talents to the audience; the performance had a single plot that narrated about a shy first-year-student who just came to study at ASU. Singing the Gaudeamus hymn and the students’ oath were especially solemn events at the holiday.

There were many other interesting events at the holiday. Anyone could join a master class in painting or in robotics, try phyto drinks, or take part in indoor rowing. An elegant lady and a gentleman invited anyone to take part in a master class in international business etiquette, whereas our students’ mobile mechanical inventions contributed to our robotic exhibition.

Astrakhan State University presented numerous fields of personal development for our newly enrolled students and their parents; we wish the young people contributed to achievements of our University greatly.
