ASU Programmers Head for St. Petersburg to a Battle of Wits
Having survived close competition, the Astrakhan State University team was qualified for representing our city in the semifinal of the International Collegiate Programming Contest — ACM/ICPC.
A knockout round of the elimination competitions was held at ASU, while the Southern district quarterfinal took place on October 15-16 at the Saratov State University named after N.G. Chernyshevsky. This time, the competition has involved 72 teams from 26 universities of 19 Russian regions. ACM/ICPC is considered one of the oldest programming competitions and the most famous one. Participants have 5 hours to solve 8 to 12 algorithmic problems. The teams from Saratov, Innopolis and Tolyatti took the lead. Astrakhan State University was ranked 23rd and was qualified for participating in the semifinal that will take place in St. Petersburg.
