ASU Becomes a Platform for Federal Parliamentary Projects
Astrakhan State University received an official decision of the RF State Duma Committee on Issues of the Commonwealth of Independent States and Contacts with Fellow Countryman, on ASU projects that had been approved at high level.
Konstantin Markelov, the ASU Acting Rector, addressed the Committee with a report on ASU activities and prospects of development. In particular, some of the mentioned projects are related to development of the macroregion and strengthening of the ties with the Caspian states. Then the Rector’s report was approved, and now the outlined activities have received an official support.
«The decision on supporting the export of education, research and academic projects, meant for Southern Russia, the Caspian Sea region and Central Asia, is very important for us,» Rector Markelov stresses. «I do hope that these initiatives will draw a positive reaction of the RF Government, relevant ministries and those funds that consider research and innovative projects.»
The document also determines the use of ASU experience in implementing projects in the Caspian Sea macroregion and involving the university into expert and analytical research on development of integration processes in the macroregion for the Committee’s needs.
